Thinking Outside of the Box

I have been doing some research on other things I could offer for my business besides portrait photography. I am currently living in a location that for about 3 months of the year it might be difficult to be outside due to low temperatures or have a lot of natural-light due to the sun not shining and since I prefer outdoor, natural-light photography this poses a difficulty.

What I have come up with is to offer two new packages: A Day on the Town and Playdate Portrait Party. A Day on the Town was inspired by Photographers that travel with families to DisneyWorld to follow them around and take pictures. No asking strangers to take your picture or family members taking turns to make sure everyone is in a picture. With this package I follow you and your family around the zoo, museum, or other attraction to capture your special moments allowing you to be in the pictures instead of behind the camera.

Playdate Portrait Party was inspired by another Photographer who just does pretty much what the title says. You're a mom/dad that has regular playdates each week and you and the other parents decide to have a day where I would come in and do a 15 minute super-mini session for each child. Pictures become available online where there is no pressure, no obligation, just order if you want. The best part is the host/hostess gets 20% off all the prints they choose!!

The last highlight I want to make would fall under my special events category. There are a few indoor waterparks here in Fargo and having birthday parties at them seems to be pretty popular. Wouldn't it be great if you cold just relax and have fun and not have to worry about getting snapshots of all the guests and your birthday child? This is possible with my Special Events package.

The Beginning of Fall

One of my son's favorite place here in Fargo is a garden area on the campus of North Dakota State University. I decided to take him there this week to do some beginning of fall pictures.

What to Wear?

One of the most often asked questions by clients is "What should we wear?" I typically give the advice to wear bright complimentary colors, but more importantly something that is "you". If you don't wear a suit and tie every day then that probably isn't what you want to wear in your portrait. Corina Nielsen Photography has been kind enough to put together 5 looks for fall sessions for her clients and fellow photographers to hopefully give some inspiration for any upcoming sessions you may have.

So in Love

I have known Tara since we were in Junior High so I was honored when she asked if I'd take some photos of her and her husband. They were a great couple to work with and you could really see how much they care for each other. Have to say AJ was probably the most relaxed of all of us and seemed to enjoy himself :-)

"G"s 1st Birthday

My family was invited to "G"s big first birthday party. Here are some pics of him enjoying the day.
